PDF Saver is a Firefox add-on designed to streamline the process of saving web pages as PDF files with just a single click. Leveraging the PDFCrowd HTML to PDF web service API, the extension operates seamlessly, allowing users to convert web content directly in their browser without the need for an account. The add-on features an intuitive interface, where users can click the extension icon to initiate the conversion process, which then downloads the resulting PDF automatically to their computer. With the recent update, a right-click menu has been added for enhanced usability, making it even easier to convert current web pages.
However, users should be aware of certain limitations with the PDF Saver add-on. It does not support converting password-protected web pages, nor does it handle content reliant on cookies or session data. Additionally, local modifications, frameset web pages, and multimedia content such as Flash and videos are not compatible. For security reasons, the add-on also restricts PDF creation from pages that require server-based session identification, such as online banking or shopping carts.
